Who are Woodvale Works?

Simon is one of the most experienced ocean rowers in the world with two successful Atlantic crossings and two Indian Ocean rows to his credit.  He has been running the ocean rowing business for a number of years and is probably the leading authority on ocean rowing.

Ian served 17 years in the Army and since 07 has completed an Atlantic and Indian Ocean row with Simon, setting records in both. His company works on a series of endurance events and expeditions including polar, mountains and ultra running. He is now working on developing the sport and increasing its profile.

Experience, knowledge and dedication.  There is no other organisation with such experience and knowledge of ocean rowing and endurance events.  Woodvale have provided more boats, equipment and  events with a record that is unsurpassed and Adventure Hub has experience in team building, genuinely extreme events and planning forged in 17 years of military service and expeditions all over the world.

We know what it is like to row an ocean.  Our boats are designed based on our experiences, individuals are selected who will work together and fully contribute to the success of the crossing.  We are always learning and looking to improve all aspects of our sport.  Woodvale Works is the way we do it.

Woodvale Works is a joint venture between Woodvale Challenge and Adventure Hub based on the friendship of both company owners Simon Chalk and Ian Couch. We aimi to put together composite crews  in state of the art ocean rowing boats to challenge the world records for ocean rowing and in doing so apply our experience and values. We want to make our sport more accessible for a wider range of people to share an incredible experience.
